The end of another year, with the month of December showing my portfolio up 3%, the FTSE 100 Index up 3.8% and the FT All World up 4.6%. So nice to be in a positive situation, but still under-performing against these two major indices.
Of my 12 investments, two fell during the month, Man GLG Japan Core Alpha was down 1.5% and Polar Capital Global Insurance down 2%. They’ve both been solid performers over the last three years and neither of them cause me any loss of sleep, so happy enough. In fact it’s been the Japan Core Alpha that has so far provided me with my best performance, showing a gain since portfolio inception of around 37%, this followed by Franklin India up just under 28%. That leaves the others with single digit gains.
Anyway, December can be a bit of an odd month what with the holidays and general disruption that occurs over the Christmas and New Year period. So no sells or buys over the month.
